Nuno Fontarra, one of the partners of Mecanoo, broke the ice and kicked off BAU! He guided attendees through his working life, sharing how he came to where he was in 2024, the struggles he faced, and what he still aspired to achieve at that time. He discussed how he acquired projects and what he looked for in a project. This lecture also introduced the first afternoon activity, where participants got a glimpse of how the office he worked at (Mecanoo) functioned. They learned about the different positions in the office and who was responsible for what.
